Your hosts
Between them, your hosts, Doug Clarkson and Joe Bavaro, have
had more than 35 years experience in the retail wine business.
Both Doug and Joe cut their teeth in the early 80s at ‘Andrew Simon’s
Camperdown Cellars’.
In those days, this was considered to be the finest wine shop in Australia.
Joe Bavaro has previously owned and operated Oddbins Corporate Alexandria,
Oddbins Wine Merchants and Porter’s Liquor Alexandria.
Joe spent 3 years in Thailand as Australian Agent for a number of boutique
vineyards. And he has had his own monthly wine column in a respected wine
publication. Doug has experienced a broad exposure
to the industry from wholesale, retail, restaurant and Hotel Management.
Both Doug and Joe have extensive wine cellars which they have built up over
the years, and they love to share their passion.
The way we like to work
We are service oriented and will do everything possible to
ensure your total satisfaction.
We use all of our experience and judgment to source only wines that have
a history of impeccable provenance. Once our wines
are received, we take great pride in maintaining them in temperature and
humidity controlled storage at all times. We are more
than happy to discuss the condition and provenance of all our wines with
you at any stage. Our pricing is based upon our purchase
costs. Rare wines are a constantly depleting resource, and purchase costs,
unfortunately, are always on the rise. The prices
for old and rare wines have continued to increase, sometimes 10-15% annually,
as demand for these wines has escalated dramatically over the last few years.
We are happy to advise you on wines to acquire for both long and short term
cellaring. Many of our customers purchase wines for long term investment,
and we are happy to pass along our experience in this area.
In addition, we can assist and advise you on the selling of your wines.
Lastly, we will always try to locate special wines, not currently available,
that you may be seeking.
Everyday requirements
Given that wine is on most people’s shopping list,
we endeavour to cater to daily needs as well as providing those special
wines when required. We have a comprehensive range
of affordable everyday wines coupled with an ever changing supply of exceptional
value cleanskins wines from various parts of Australia. Because of our busy lifestyles, sometimes we simply don’t have the
time to do the shopping, much less select wine. Here’s where you can
let the team from winezy take the hassle out of wine purchasing for you. Simply send us an email advising the price and style
of wines you would like and we will assemble great quality mixed dozens and
deliver it to your door. Next time you want to buy
